Week 1 - Namsan Tower, One Piece and Cakes

Before we get started: This time I did not make a mini vlog. This time I'm just going to show yall a bunch of pictures that I made over the past week with an explanation of where and what it was and what I was doing! I'm trying to do a lot of diffrent stuff for my blog to see what I am most comfortable with.

I hope you enjoy this week's update!

Monday March 19th

Monday started quietly. I was sitting in the living room when my roommate told me that she wanted to eat a certain hotdog so we got ready and just went. I didn't know what she meant until we got there:
CORNDOG
My friend ate a Cheese Corndog and I ate a Takoyaki one! It was super nice!

This is the street we bought the corndogs in. It's the street connected to Hongdae street. This is the street I walked up and down every day in 2015 because Oasis Guesthouse is at the end of it πŸ’–

On the way back we passed this little bakery who sells these amazing cake like bread loafs. I don't like cake but even then: they look soooo great like oh mygosh.
Speaking of which: in Korea they make the most beautiful cakes. I will share some pictures of them later on in this blog.

At night I went out with my housemates and we had to wait infront of the restaurant until a table cleared out. There were quite some Karaoke bar's in the street. They are called Noraebang in Korea. In the picture above you can see the "Voice of Shinchon" Noraebang, which made me laught because of the name hahaha. And below there is a picture of the Elvis Noraebang. I wonder what that would be like...

We went to eat at Pork BBQ place which is called Dweji Galbi.

After dinner we went for dessert at a little cafΓ© next to Hongdae Playground. We had Sulbing which is Korean shaved ice.
Say Cheese~
This is the sulbing that we had, Green Tea (macha) and the other one was with almonds. Below a picture of a poster that was inside of the café. You hungry yet 😏?

Thuesday March 20th

I went into the city to visit the immigration office to get my Korean ID card but I ended up at the wrong branch... But It was city center and I LOVE it there so I didn't mind hahaha 😁!
Cheonggyecheon River!!

The Subway stations in Korea are so safe! The tracks are closed off, so the metro stops exactly where the slide doors are. Also they have a very smart system to let you know when the metro will be arriving:

And don't let me get started on the ammount of stairs this country has wauw. 90% of the exits at the subway stations are all stairs. You have to walk a while if you want an elevator or something like that. When my friend and I are climbing the stairs we always chant: Dieto Dieto Dieto! as a joke hahaha (if you don't get that joke then....😐)
HIGH ESCALATOR!

Oh and as promised, I passed this cute little bakery on my way back from the Immigration offcie (right branch this time!)

Oh and for the Capeverdians under you readers (which is pretty much everybody πŸ˜†). LOOK WHAT I FOUND AT DANGSAN STATION!!!!!
I may not like Pastel de Nata but it's still fun to see it like this hahahahaha

I got off at Dangsan exit 4 which led to this amazing passage way that served like some kind of bridge that went over the Highway. The passage way led to the side of the river which has a fantastic vieuw. I want to go back there at night one of these days to see how the night vieuw looks like.
Plus this day it was like crazy windy so I kept being blown of my feet πŸ˜†!

Passing over the river

Somehow when I got off at Hongdae it had already gotten dark. Here are some evening pictures of one of my favourite districts:
LOL:

AND MORE PRETTY CAKE 🍰🍰🍰
 ICECREAM CAKE!!!!

Wednesday March 21st

I didn't do annything special this day. I went into Hongdae and saw some more nice cake ahhaha πŸ˜† and I found a Godiva store which I had never seen before!

Also you can find these little game corners in almost every shopping street...

In the evening I met up with a friend of mine and his girlfriend. Wanna know a funny story?
I met him while I was working at Schiphol! He was traveling with his father and at that time his english was not very good yet so I helped him with the little Korean that I knew. He was so happy that we exchanged our Kakao ID's and stayed in contact! Both him and his girlfriend are such great people, so kind! 😊 The place we met up was Konkuk university, which is around 30 min away from Hongdae by subway.
We went to Karaoke and truns out they can both sing realy nicely!!

After getting home, me and my roommates ordered some chicken...
And learned the new QUOTE OF THE DAY πŸ‘€πŸ˜†

Thursday March 22nd

Today I went out with my friend. We headed into Hongdae first where I noticed some weird things: Lego burgers, Lightbulb shakes and even Vincent van Gogh riding in a carridge that was being pulled by the Girl with the pearl earing....

She is Japanese so we ate some Japanese udon and Takoyaki, and after that we took the subwayline to Myeondong shopping district.

 BASKIN ROBBINS!!!!!!
And just a reguar Ice cream, which was really good...

We went back to Myeondong in the evening because we were planning on going up to Namsan Tower which is right behind it.

The tower is up a mountain which you can reach by going up with the cable car, which is fun...
But nothing beats going up trough the hiking trails. I heard that there are more then just one but we took the one closest to the entrance which is a stair path that goes up for 1.23 km.

And YES.... we really went up those stairs πŸ˜† I felt like my life was slowly comming to an end but it was more then just worth it...
I mean, the vieuw was fenomenal.....

Following are a couple of pictures I took ontop of the mountain and from inside the Namsan Tower!
For those wondering what these are:
Next to the Namsan Tower is a small area that is legandary for a certain myth.
It is said that if you go up the Namsan Tower with a loved one and you write your names on a lock, secure it around a bar on the balcony and throw the key down the mountain, your love will last forever....
I don't believe in it but the balcony is completely filled with locks, it is a nice thing to see,...
 Namsan Tower:

This is how far away I am

I just want to buy everything they have in their little souvenir shop...
NOSTALIC CANDY OMG. Who feels me on this one!!??
Jealous yet 😏?
After getting something to eat at Myeondong, we took the subway to Dongdaemun where they have this huge Night market!

Dongdaemun: The Great East Gate
Street food!
Fishcake:

There is also fruit, i'm not a savage....
Dongdaemun Design Plaza:
We goofed around inside of the plaza xD

Friday March 23rd

Today was a calm day, mainly because my whole body was sore from climbing that mountain xD whahahahaha
I studied Korean in the company of my new humidifier and my talented housemates!
Isn't it cute!!?

After that I went out to dinner with my friends and we had Cheese Galbi!
Yes...
That is Cheese....

And ofcourse:

AND MY FRIEND SHOWED ME THE WAY TO THE ONE PIECE CAFE! I AM SO HAPPY OMG I AM SO COMMING BACK HERE OMG !!  MONEY SPENNNNNDING

Satur--

I skipped Saturday, I know. That's because, frankly, Saturday I did absolutely nothing. After waking up around like 10AM I was sitting on the couch in the living room wondering why the hell I had gotten out of bed that day. I had no energy what so ever. So the next best thing was for me to go back to bed, and I did. I napped like a mad man and woke up at like around 16.30.
After that I just chilled the whole day, organized my suitcases and stuff.... I didn't even leave the house.....
I regret nothing

Sunday March 25th

Very calm day. I met up with two friends that my aunt itroduced me toπŸ’–. We met up at Insadong which I had not yet been to since I got here so jeej for that!
We walked around and had some dinner, then we parted ways because it was sunday and well they had work in the morning!

ONE PIECE PUZZELS... yes I am obsessed....

Tea cakes in this cute tea shop!

Idk where this came from but I laughed so hard..

Art exhibition, I really liked the paintings... the colors were fenomenal~

FOOOOOOOD. I have Korean steamed dumplings on my plate, called Mandu.

Have you ever seen a heated fan....?

This is them! They are such kind and sweet people😊!

On my way back I saw more cakes πŸ˜†. Plus I crossed a bridge which had nice vieuw, for me at least...

After I got home me and my roomates ordered some chicken... Korean Fried Chicken is Life unexplained....

Eh..? FINISHED??

Thank you guys for comming out here this week again! I updated a little late because of the amount of writing and pictures but here it is!
